Attendees will receive exclusive made-for-mobile content and NFC wristbands.
Hyde Park looks set to buzz with near field communications (NFC) as Mobile Interactive Group has teamed up with O2 to provide exclusive content for the event, which will take place from the 3rd – 6th July.
Exclusive features will take the form of an NFC wristband, which will be presented to O2 customers upon entry to the festival and will give the wearer access to a number of VIP areas.
Wristbands will be scanned by handheld PDA’s and will enable entry to places like the O2 bus, a static platform giving unrivalled views of headlining acts, access to the VIP cloakrooms or a free cocktail in the stage bar.
MIG will also be powering mobile internet content, beaming out backstage gossip, maps, running orders, MTV videos and interviews and a selection of wallpapers and realtones to mobile users at the festival.
Anthony Nelson, director of business development at MIG said: “MIG has been providing interactive experiential mobile services to the O2 wireless festival since 2006. The festival is the perfect environment to showcase the latest innovations in the market place, such as NFC technology and mobile PIN code redemption via touch-screen kiosks, and demonstrate the strengths of mobile as an activation tool to today’s increasingly mobile savvy customer.”
