Telstra embraces barcodes for browsing and downloads

Aussie operator Telstra is embedding QR barcodes into half a million subscribers’ phones.
It says the readers will give customers quick access to websites and mobile content. They simply point their phone cameras at the specially designed barcodes, known as Telstra Mobile Codes, to access content such as weather, localised maps and mobile videos.
The barcodes are based on the popular QR Codes used in Japan.
