Sony Pictures exits mobile games, works with Glu

Sony Pictures has abandoned its 'direct' mobile games dream and outsourced to Glu.
The latter has bagged distribution rights for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The first titles include the game of the forthcoming superhero movie, Hancock, starring Will Smith. Glu will be running its hands at casual franchises like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy too.
It’s another big ‘third party’ win for Glu, which already works with Activision, Hasbro, Sega, Konami, Microsoft, WSOP and others. For Sony Pictures TV, it marks a withdrawal from direct participation in mobile after a big push in 2006.
