Danish mobile games studio Progressive Media sets up new division for handheld development.

Progressive's first DS game, Pixeline and the Mirror of Dreams, will be available in time for Christmas this year through publishing partner KREA Media. Pixeline is a Danish children's TV character.

The company is already producing other titles for Java, BREW, online social communities, PC downloadable and Xbox Live Arcade, with more news on iPhone and Android projects due later this year.

Thomas Nielsen, CEO of Progressive Media, said: "We're determined to evolve into one of the worlds leading independent cross-platform game specialists, and our move into Nintendo DS is a big step in that direction.
