Movial has launched its’ ‘IXS Toolkit’ to help developers create Linux-based user interfaces.

The solution is based on the Finnish company’s TI’s OMAP3430 processor and seeks to reduce the  complex programming requirements and amount of time required to develop robust user interfaces such as touchscreens and touchpads. Movial says developers and designers can now leverage familiar Web publishing tools, Ajax JavaScript and XML technologies to create interfaces in dramatically shorter timeframes.

It adds that user interfaces developed with IXS Toolkit leave no border in between online and on-device content and resources.

“The Movial IXS Toolkit removes all the complexity associated with device user interface development, thus enabling operator services, Internet content and contextual information from the device to be smoothly combined into an integrated user experience,” said Markus Tremmel, worldwide wireless ecosystem manager, Texas Instruments
