Operator set to enter computer electronics market as part of wide-ranging changes.
UK operator Orange is set to enter the laptop market with the launch of its own branded notebook, as part of a set of wide ranging reforms aimed at turning the firm into the UK's "the best-loved telecommunications company."
Orange says the laptop will be branded 'totally connected'. No further details on the device were revealed, but it's likely to sport both wi-fi and cellular connectivity for 'home' and 'away' access via Orange broadband services.
The announcement is part of a wider range of changes being instigated by Orange's new chief executive Tom Alexander, including the creation of two new business units aimed at consumers and businesses, and accelerated HSDPA roll out.
