MEF elects Americas board

The Mobile Entertainment Forum has elected Microsoft’s Jim Beddows as its new Americas chair.
Beddows, the head of content and application partnerships for MSN Mobile, heads a new board that will lead the MEF’s progress on existing policy for content, advertising, mobile operators and D2C services in the Americas. John Orlando, vice president of marketing for LiveWire Mobile, was elected vice chair.
The following elected members are:
Daniel Cohen, VP of business development, Dada Entertainment
Ujjal Kohli, CEO, Rhythm NewMedia
Eduardo Sartori, general manager for new business, Okto (Brazil)
Gary Schwartz, CEO, Impact Mobile (Canada)
Joe Waimrin, VP of business development, mBlox.
They join existing board members:
Ed Boddington, CEO, Harvest Media
Tim Courtney, VP of sales and strategy, LCC
John Orlando, VP of marketing, Livewire Mobile
Beddows said, “Our membership spans the most influential ranks of the mobile entertainment value chain, which empowers us to make significant contributions to the business, regulatory, political and cultural challenges ahead. I pay tribute to Ted Cohen and Dave Ulmer, outgoing MEF Americas board chair and vice chair, whose leadership has fueled MEF Americas’ exponential growth in the past years.”
