Vollee brings Second Life to mobile

Second Life can now be accessed from mobile devices via a free beta app from Vollee.
A new service powered by Vollee, the 3G streaming specialist, streams the 3D virtual world to anyone with a 3G or Wi-Fi enabled handset – after they have downloaded a thin client and logged-in using their existing Second Life accounts. It was first announced as a trial earlier this year. The launch supports 40 handsets at present.
Martin Dunsby, CEO of Vollee, said: “This application is just one example of how Vollee is capable of bringing persistent worlds, MMOs and graphically intensive PC applications to mobile in a way that works.”
Vollee’s proprietary VolleeX engine also streams high-end PC titles to mobile, including massively multiplayer online role playing games.
