CDMA subs hit 451m

Asia Pacific and EMEA lead growth for CDMA mobile network technologies.
The global CDMA customer base increased by 17 per cent in the 12 months to March 31st to 451 million.
Mobile users on 3G CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO networks reached 438 million and 97 million, respectively.
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) says subs in Asia Pacific (cdmaOne and CDMA2000) rose to 231 million, accounting for 51 per cent of global total and representing a 30 per cent increase from March 2007.
North America’s 140 million CDMA subs account for 31 per cent of the total, with Central/Latin America's 62.8 million representing 14 per cent.
In EMEA, CDMA subscribership reached 17.7 million.
Mobile users on high-speed 1xEV-DO networks increased to 97 million, with 52 million in North America and 39 million in APAC.
In contrast, there were 2.8 billion people using the rival GSM family of mobile network technologies in December 2007.
