France Telecom splashes out on TV and movies

France Telecom plans to spend 200 million euros this year on movies and TV programming.
The French giant has made a major drive into ‘triple play’ offering its customers bundles of mobile, TV and Internet subscriptions. Clearly, it needs to offer them content as part of its offer.
Gervais Pellissier, FT’s CFO, confirmed the investment in a radio interview. France already has exclusive deals in place with m Warner Brothers International TV and HBO.
