Sandisk reveals fast-loading 'multimedia' cards

SanDisk has unveiled new Mobile Ultra cards that use a USB stick to ‘wake up’ the multimedia features of phones.
The Mobile Ultra range comprises microSD, microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro cards available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities. Cards are bundled with a MobileMate Micro Reader that plugs directly into a USB 2.0 port to assist fast transfer and easy management of digital content.
Sandisk is touting the new cards as multimedia-friendly – increasing the phone’s storage capacity for maps, music, videos, photos, games and other applications.
Michael Romero, VP of mobile retail business at SanDisk, said: “These cards are truly the most convenient way for people to store, move and play content using their mobile phones, so we’re excited to introduce this high-performance, premium product to market to meet this need and growing demand.”
