mobivention buys Airmotion's download biz

German content specialist mobivention has bought the download business of its compatriot company Airmotion.
Airmotion specialises in wallpapers, MMS, m-greeting cards and videos. These activities will now be integrated into mobivention’s business area ‘graphics and videos'. mobivention expects the deal to contribute a six digit increase to its revenues in the current financial year.
Dr. Hubert Weid, CEO of mobivention, said: “Through this acquisition our roaring growth in operating income and profit will be instantly given a further boost…our sales channels complement each other perfectly, which is why we can expand our channels from 53 countries currently.”
Following the deal, mobivention will grow its Cologne HQ, and increase staff count generally by 10 per cent.
The purchase will leave Airmotion to focus on its publishing business unit, which provides content and community services to portals such as Vodafone live!
