Accenture is to buy Origin Digital, which provides video services to content owners.
The acquisition will help Accenture’s clients ramp up their video capture, transformation and delivery services via mobile, broadband and IPTV.
Origin Digital has a number of Fortune 500 companies in its client portfolio that are also Accenture clients. The new division will be run by Accenture’s digital service division Digital Media Services (ADMS), which also purchased the music specialist Digiplug last year.
“The addition of Origin Digital will complement the experience we developed in music through our acquisition of Digiplug,” said Richard Cottrell, MD of ADMS group. “Creating a full suite of managed services will accelerate the availability of digital media services to businesses globally.”
