Mobile social networking flies

Over 800,000 UK mobile subscribers visited social networking sites on their phones in 1Q.
That equals 1.7 per cent of all mobile subscribers in the country – twice as high as in other major European markets, though similar to the US, where the proportion was 1.6 per cent.
MySpace.com was the most popular US site. It logged 2.8 million unique mobile users in December. Facebook scored 1.8 million.
In the UK, Facebook led with 557,000, while MySpace scored 211,000.
Elsewhere, MSN’s Windows Live Spaces led in Italy (154,000 unique mobile users per month) and France (106,000), and ranked second in Germany (45,000) behind MySpace, which boasted 52,000 unique mobile users a month.
