THQ Wireless wins rights to new Dreamworks franchise.
THQ has successfully pitched for the game adaptation of Dreamworks’ autumn 2010 movie release, Master Mind, including the mobile game.
Dreamworks’ exclusive five-year contract with Activision will be coming to an end in 2010 – and it looks like the movie animation firm won’t be renewing the deal.
Activision has published games based on all of DreamWorks’ internally produced films since 2004's Shrek 2.
Recent mobile adaptations of Shrek The Third and Madagascar 2 have been handled by Gameloft and Glu Mobile, respectively.
The film, acquired under the working title of Master Mind, is due in theatres on November 5, 2010.
The new agreement grants THQ exclusive rights to publish interactive games based on the DreamWorks Animation property for all console and handheld systems, wireless devices and Windows PCs.
