Operator says data traffic is now exceeding voice traffic on its network.
T-Mobile says 25 per cent of new contract customers signed up for its mobile broadband services in 1Q08, up from just four per cent for the whole of 2007.
The company reckons the growth will enable it to quadruple mobile broadband users during the course of the year.
Significantly, as the result of the overall increased demand for accessing the internet on the move, it saw data traffic exceed voice for the first time during the quarter.
Overall, non-voice share of ARPU in 1Q was up two percentage points, from 20 per cent to 22 per cent year-on-year.
Net revenue came in at £8.01 million, up 2.6 per cent year-on-year, with customers up 2.3 per cent at 17 million.
