messagingIntroducing the smell-tone

Comments (3)

Oi, your mobile stinks! No, it’s just the wife calling.

Germany’s ConVisual announced this week that it’s patented a chip for sending scents via text and multimedia messages. The company says it will transmit ‘ocean breeze’ between phones and offer ‘aromatic two-dimensional bouquets’ to lovers.

One can only imagine what divorcing couples would use in these bouquets.

Reports say the chips could be live in the market by 2010. About 100 scents will be available, but consumers will need special phones to use them.

Does this smell like bullshit to you too?
