London's commuters are a missed opportunity when it comes to selling content services.
Last Thursday's edition of the freebie Metro newspaper contained no less than ten ads - nearly all a quarter page or larger - for mobile phone services.
A cursory flick through Metro's pages would suggest the paper makes more money from phone ads than any other advertiser segment.
What an opportunity then for the phone companies to use the Metro 'channel' to tell a captive audience about all the lovely stuff they can download to keep themselves occupied on the 7.42 into Kings Cross...

I agree very good advertisement venue, but not just for phone companies really for anyone selling digital content from the open web, either to the PC or to the mobile!
Then of course it would be nice if there was an easy hassle free way to download all the content, hmmmm....

I have seen a number of "Bluetooth hotspots" on the underground providing content in relation to film releases, FREE games etc. The advert is usually blocked by the people trying to work out how to interact with these services, or missing the train as they enable bluetooth on the handset. One would assume the customer care lines get more hits than the mobile pages! Great audience, just KEEP IT SIMPLE!
