UK mobile games publisher Telcogames has gone into administration, according to documents passed to ME.
A statement issued by administrator Jason Godefroy at corporate restructuring specialist Menzies, dated April 22nd reads:
"It is the Joint Administrators' current intention to sell the business and assets as a going concern. I am not able to give any information regarding the financial position."
The note goes onto to say that "the officers of the company are required to submit a statement of affairs, but as yet I am not able to give any information regarding the financial position."
More details can be found here at paidcontent.co.uk, and mobilegamesblog.com, who broke the story earlier today.
As recently as March 2007, Telcogames was highest ranked among 13 mobile content companies listed in GP Bullhound’s 50 fastest growing digital media businesses in the UK.
Then in June last year the company bagged former Sega Mobile chief Darren Newnham as its new head of licensing. However, he was made redundant in October.
It acquired 3D mobile games developer Fathammer in June 2006.
Telcogames also distributes titles from a host of publishers, including EA Mobile, Hands-On and Glu.
