MobiTV says it has more than four million subs, more than all the IPTV users in Europe.
The provider is now adding a million subscribers every six months, whitelabelling streaming TV services for operators all over the world. It now plans to expand from hosted services to licensing the use of its servers so partners can manage the operation. To do this, it unveiled its enhanced Optimized Delivery Server.
Charlie Nooney, CEO of MobiTV, said: "MobiTV allows carriers and operators access to this next-generation media distribution solution on their terms.
Whether they want a fully managed, end-to-end hosted network solution or the ability to license components of our system that can interoperate with their existing infrastructure, the choice is now theirs."

“There is a big headroom in Mobile TV Market”
Posted by: Amitabh Kumar - Apr 16, 11:42am
The numbers of MobiTV are indeed look impressive, but we need to recognize that these are still less than 2% of the 265 Million mobiles in the US market alone. They have got their delivery method right, it is independent of carriers and needs only a phone with access to internet via the mobile carrier.
However there are new developments ( see http://www.mobilet....com) such as the the alliance of over 800 broadcasters coming together to enable mobile TV transmissions from all TV stations. This may be the next trigger for a gap up in mobile Tv growth.
