New office to be global headquarters for publishing and development activity.
THQ Wireless has opened a new studio and global headquarters in San Diego, California.
The office will be home to all of the publisher's main processes, including game design, production management, porting, QA testing and deployment.
It also expands THQW's presence in North America, with much of its business run out of Europe until now.
The opening is accompanied by a management re-shuffle, with Sony Computer Entertainment and Glu vet Beth Doherty appointed as VP of sales for North America.
Meanwhile, Brad Pitser has been promoted to become THQW's head of global production from his previous exec producer role.
Currently only 30 people are working at the centre, which is helped by vice president of operations Lauren Thorpe, but it plans to expand significantly within the next few months.
