The GSMA says there are 32m mobile broadband connections globally.
That figure is up from just three million connections 12 months ago, according to GSM Association figures released through the FT today.
Among the other facts in the story is the number of operator offering high-speed internet access has increased 44 per cent in ten months, while there are 166 commercial deployments of GSPA network technology globally.
Rob Conway, chief executive of the GSMA, said: “We are witnessing the creation of a virtuous circle in which mobile broadband is achieving greater economies of scale, driving down the cost of handsets and equipment and enabling more and more people to enjoy easy access to media-rich services.”
