CTIA: MobiComp and Smaato offer idle ads

MobiComp and Smaato have teamed up to develop an idle screen mobile ad service.
The solution will integrate Smaato’s SOMA targeted advertising service with MobiComp’s Active mTicker. The latter pushes info to phone users via an always-on, scrolling ticker when the device is in idle mode. This partnership incorporate targeted clickable ads into these messages.
Active mTicker is already used by TMN Portugal. Over 100,000 customers regularly use it.
