3Bill has bought its second network in a fortnight, swooping for www.faces.com.

The mobile division of payments and marketing specialist Symbios Group purchased all the assets of Faces, its user base and the IP operating the platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Faces launched in 2004, with a focus on music, blogging and photos. The site lets members view each other’s profiles, communicate with old friends and meet new acquaintances. Customisable themes and profile pages are available and the site also offers widgets such as TuneFeed, a Flash-based player which can be used on external sites such as MySpace.

The acquisition comes just two weeks after 3BILL bought myprofileheaven, and strengthens the company’s resolve to be a major player in the UK mobile social networking space.

3Bill now plans to amalgamate its purchases into a ‘super community’ with previously unseen features for re-launch in mid 2008.

Martin Montague, CEO of 3Bill, said: “We have been developing web and networking products for many years. We now have a proven competency both technically and commercially, and have successfully delivered mobile campaigns for several leading entertainment brands. Adding such a great brand and domain name as www.faces.com will help us reach critical mass quickly, and give us a great rolling start to centralise our assets into one new dynamic social network platform rich in web, mobile and music content – all to the delight of our users.”
