cdg, cdma2000, ev-doCDMA subs hit 431 million

In 4Q07 Asia-Pac added the most CDMA subs, while EMEA grew by the largest percentage.

The figures, released by the CDMA Development Group (CDG), show the CDMA2000 user base grew 16 per cent in 2007 to 417 million. The EV-DO subscriber base grew from 55 million to 90.5 million during the year.

Asia Pac and North America claimed the majority of CDMA customers, at 49 per cent and 32 per cent of the global market, respectively.

Asia Pac added 6.2 million users in Q4 to reach 211 million, making it the largest net growth region in the world.

North America has more than 137 million CDMA subscribers.

EMEA and Asia Pac saw the greatest year-over-year growth, at 24 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively. India has 61 million CDMA subscribers, China 42 million, and Indonesia 14 million.
