MWC: Real powers MelOn and on and on

RealNetworks has extended its contract with SK Telecom to power the MelOn music service.
The deal has been in place since November 2004, originally with WiderThan, which Real purchased. With the extension of this partnership, Real will continue to deliver premium digital music services to SK subscribers. MelOn was the first integrated online and mobile subscription music service in the world, allowing users to enjoy their music whenever and wherever they choose by streaming to a PC or downloading tracks to a mobile phone or portable music device.
It now uses Real's Rhapsody DNA technology to offer a personalized music recommendation service called Channel, which suggests and delivers new music based upon subscribers' purchasing and listening patterns.
