Actimagine has made its video codec work across the Symbian ecosystem.
The firm has joined the Symbian Platinum Partner Programme, thus extending its video codec to Symbian handsets.
The codec, called Mobiclip, makes it possible to watch a full-length movie in DVD-like quality on mobile. It claims playback quality at 25 frames per second, full screen, for all types of video (premium, user generated and advertising) without compromising the lifespan of the battery.
The Symbian OS is backed by all the major handset companies and is installed on 165 million smartphones across over 250 major operators.
