Google revamps UK mobile search

Relevance and location top of the agenda for search giant's new mobile solution.
Google has rejigged its mobile search offering for the UK market to provide what it claims will be 'faster and more intuitive' results.
It says that instead of making users sift through results from both the mobile and regular search, it will trawl all sources - web, mobile, news articles, local business listings, images, etc - and then provides the most relevant results.
A search for sunflower, for example, provides links to photos of sunflowers as well as web pages.
Google says the new system will also remember the recent search locations and factor that into future results.
Steve Cheng, Google's mobile search product manager, said: "With millions of mobile phones in use worldwide, our goal is to make the Google search experience even more useful and relevant for users on the go."
