3 picks Pix from Fonestarz

3 has selected Fonestarz to host and manage its new picture service, Pix.
Pix has now launched on the 3 portal in the UK and Ireland and currently features 20,000 images and animations taken from FoneStarz’s catalogue of premium content. The service includes branded imagery from partners including Disney, Manchester United and Aardman, and is hosted on FoneStarz’s content management platform, ‘Daius’.
FoneStarz will license wallpaper and animation content for the services from its 130 content partners and its retail and publishing teams will manage both the UK and Irish Pix channels from its UK HQ.
As part of the new deal, FoneStarz will also provide 3 with a portfolio of DRM-free content, which can be used in peer-to-peer messaging, allowing the operator’s customers to download content and then share it with friends.
