Watch out for mobile
Tim Green Jan 2 2008, 12:09pm
The hour has come for mobile, with two thirds of people using their phones to tell the time.
According to Gizmodo poll 64.7 per cent of people look up the time on their phones, compared to 31 per cent who still use a watch. The survey confirms the perception that mobiles are cannibalising the wristwatch and alarm clock businesses.
In previous reports, it’s also been suggested that phones are also replacing (to various degrees) spending on cameras, MP3 players and even cigarettes.
