Red Dwarf mobisodes touch down

Pitch will broadcast new animated episodes of cult TV comedy Red Dwarf to its subscribers over the holiday period.

It’s the first time Red Dwarf content has been created solely for mobile users and the only time Red Dwarf have ever created a Christmas special. The mobisodes, entitled ‘Red Christmas’ have been written and recorded with the original cast members exclusively for Pitch subscribers. They will be delivered in two parts on offer to subscribers for £3 per week. Subscribers will also have access to unique functions such as the mobile social networking community, exclusive ringtones, videos and images.

Martin Bowley, Chief Executive at Pitch, said: “This new deal with the team at Red Dwarf is a fantastic end to what has been an extremely successful year for Pitch, and shows the broadcasting world how new content can be created for new mediums. Exceptionally, this activity symbolises the first time work has been created solely for the mobile medium which has never been seen on TV before.”
