Groove Mobile's UK D2C music offering is now PayForIt compliant across all operators.
The US-based mobile music specialist has a deal with Universal Music to offer WAP stores from artists including Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Timbaland, Mika and the Kaiser Chiefs.
The service was initially made available to Vodafone customers earlier this year and extended to 3 UK users in September.
Now the store is PayForIt compliant across all UK operators. This means it follows the standardised WAP billing interface stipulated by the operators in September.
Groove also points out that D2C full-track downloads are now a viable consumer proposition in the UK, with operators offering flat-rate data tariffs, thus eliminating the possibility of 'bill shock' (for those that have them).
Adam Sexton, chief marketing officer for Groove Mobile, said: "Growth in off-portal content sales has been slowed by multiple billing practices across different carriers. With its PayForIt compliance, Groove Mobile assures that its mobile music customers in the UK are billed accurately and consistently for the content they purchase."
