Stuart O'Brien Dec 3 2007, 12:58pm
Sweden-based mobile games publisher to go public in 1Q 2008.
GlobalFun has operations in the US, Argentina, Italy and Spain and is now targeting acquisitions to grow the business.
The IPO will take place in Sweden.
GlobalFun primarily sells games like Scooby-Doo: Savaing Shaggy and Cow & Chicken through mobile operators and handset vendors, as well as TV stations, media channels and ISPs.
Marcus Johansson, CEO of GlobalFun, said: "We are at the tipping point and felt that an IPO would give us the tools needed to push forward faster.
There’s a lot of interesting movements in the market that will define this industry as we move on. To have some of the stock floating provides both a small injection of funds but more importantly a market valuation of the company and a currency for acquisitions."
More information regarding the IPO will be made available in January 2008.
