Glu's big MIG gig
Tim Green Dec 3 2007, 12:12pm
Glu has bought Beijing-based mobile games publisher MIG Information Technology.
The deal gives Glu a potentially huge new market for its existing products while adding valuable Asian-oriented content to its repertoire. Glu will add MIG's 80 employees to its worldwide team. They will continue to develop games, and work in conjunction with Glu's existing Beijing HQ.
“We believe MIG is the leading developer and publisher of mobile games in China.
The acquisition allows us to strengthen our presence in the region and supports our goal to be the world's leading global publisher of mobile games,” Greg Ballard, Glu’s CEO.
It’s the latest of many acquisitions by Western companies looking to establish a presence in China.
