Player One has secured a multi-year mobile content licensing agreement with Matchroom Sport.
The three-year exclusive deal encompasses events and personalities within the worlds of snooker, boxing, pool, bowling, golf, fishing, darts and poker, including all types of mobile content from games through to video.
Player One and Matchroom Sport have already worked together on individual properties such as Pokermillion, Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor darts, Steve Davis and Ronnie O’Sullivan snooker.
Matchroom brands now open to ‘mobilisation’ as part of the new deal include the World Pool Championship, Mosconi Cup, World Tenpin Masters and the Professional Darts Corporation.
Player One managing director Pete Russell said: “The new deal means we can now approach our operator partners with a whole suite of content tied into major international sporting events, with full marketing support across Matchroom’s multiple media outlets, including TV.”
Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn told ME: “We have personality-led content in multiple high-volume sports, which is good news for the mobile business. It’s not just about making a branded mobile game anymore – it’s about video archives, hints and tips, streaming results services and everything else in between.”
