Adult market thrusts towards $3.5bn

The mobile adult services market will be worth $3.5 billion by 2010, says Juniper Research.
Streamed video and video-based chat services, fuelled by rising 3G penetration, will be the main factors fuelling growth, along with the emergence of a new market in North American market, where adult services are virtually non-existent at present.
Elsewhere, the lascivious Eastern Europeans will drive higher and higher revenues thanks to operator willingness to offer explicit, white-label content on-portal.
Conversely adoption in Asia will remain low because of restrictive legislation.
Other findings from the Juniper report include:
· Western European revenues will rise from $775m in 2007 to $1.5bn by 2012.
· Global revenues from video chat services will rise from $138m in 2007 to more than $1.5bn by 2012.
