Index has done a deal with China Mobile to take the cream of Japanese content to Chinese subscribers.

The D2C specialist's recently launched Index China unit is scheduled to begin trial delivery of content in the spring of 2008. Official services are expected to begin in conjunction with the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It is aiming to secure up to 80 million mobile users within the first year of the service’s launch.

Index is a giant of the D2C scene in Japan and outside it, having bought companies such as France’s 123 Multimedia.
