Novarra drives 3 Italia's web push

3 Italia is using Novarra technology to offer full internet access to its subscribers.
The operator has implemented Novarra’s Vision mobile web gateway platform, which transcodes full web pages on the fly and re-purposes them for the mobile screen. Additionally, consumers with X-Series handsets can experience major internet brands, a ‘WWW3 internet dashboard’ and the Planet 3 mobile portal from a single service offering.
Novarra’s Vision server can deliver any web site to any WAP, i-mode or HTML browser. It supports thousands of commercially deployed industry browsers and requires no change to the handset software.
In a related announcement, Novarra confirmed it would power 3 Austria’s ‘MoreWWW’ mobile internet service. This application is available for download from the Planet 3 portal and supports both German and English languages. Features include content download and a customised dashboard highlighting top Austrian web sites and email services.
