Managed services specialist snaps up multiplayer mobile games pioneer
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see Denmark-based End2End inherit multiplayer game hosting deals with operators in various markets.
Most recently Terraplay launched services with T-Mobile Austria as part of a long-term agreement between the operator that had already seen T-Mobile UK launch multiplayer games based on its platform.
Like in the UK, the Austrian service provides T-Mobile with an operator branded community portal - dubbed Multiplayer Zone - for all connected games and also includes in-game billing, enabling various subscription models.
Terraplay also runs multiplayer games for 3 and maintains publisher relationships with the likes of THQ Wireless and Player X.
Bernadette Lyons, managing director at End2End, said: "We expect connected gaming to be major factor in the dramatic growth of the mobile gaming market and Terraplay are the best in the business."
Sven Hålling, CEO of Terraplay, added: "By combining Terraplay's expertise in connected gaming with End2End's experience in mobile content delivery, we believe we have created an incredibly valuable and unique proposition for operators."
