Do-it-yourself ringtone service offered to operator customers.
Mobile music and video delivery specialist Mspot has taken the wraps off a new DIY ringtone app called Make-A-Ringer.
The company claims the service is the first in North America to enable legal remixing of songs for use as ringtones.
It will be available to operators as a standalone service or a compliment to mSpot’s other mobile music services, which include mobile streaming radio, videos and over-the-air (OTA) music syncing with a PC library.
Daren Tsui, co-founder and CEO of mSpot, said: "We are working in partnership with music labels and mobile operators to have the largest catalog of songs from which consumers can easily and legally make their own custom ringtones."
Existing Mspot customers include Sprint, Boost, US Cellular, Telus and Bell Mobility.
