China's half a billion subs

China now has 515 million subscribers, with 6.8 million more bring added per month.
The statistics, from the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) for August this year, show how much impact is being made by demand from China's rural areas.
China is also producing more phones than ever. It delivered 347.6 million between January and August, up 28 per cent over the same period last year.
