The Mobile Marketing Association has issued mobile banner ad guidelines for EMEA.

The guidelines advises content providers and advertisers on how to use mobile banner ads, recommended aspect ratios and dimensions, maximum file sizes, file formats and other technical specs. Click this link to download the details in PDF form.

The MMA says it created the guidelines to ensure mobile campaigns are delivered consistently on the majority of devices for optimum user experience.

Materna

The GSM Association and the dotMobi Advisory Group both support the new guidelines, while Yahoo! says it expects to make all of its mobile web properties MMA compliant by Q4, 2007.

Development was led by the MMA’s EMEA Mobile Advertising Committee, chaired by David Barker of Enpocket and Markus Münkler of Vodafone Group Services.
