Nokia buys Enpocket

Nokia ramps mobile ad business with acquisition of Enpocket.
The deal for an undisclosed sum takes Nokia further down the internet services path set out by Ovi (albeit on a B2B basis) and gives it a leg up in terms of relationships with advertisers, content providers and operators.
Nokia initially leapt into the mobile advertising space in March with two products: Nokia Ad Service and Nokia Advertising Connector.
Boston-based Enpocket was founded in 2001. Its platform can deliver mobile advertising across multiple formats including SMS, MMS, mobile web banners and video. Clients include Pepsi, Vodafone and Sprint.
Nokia says the agreement is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2007.
