While-label search provider Medio has finally revealed a major European deal with T-Mobile.

From today, the US based specialist will power mobile search for T-Mobile International’s t-zones customers in the UK, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. The service will also be rolled out in the Czech Republic later this month. Mobile advertising will form part of the service and is expected to start the rollout internationally before the end of the year.  

Medio has a big reputation in North America, where it is the appointed search provider for Verizon, T-Mobile and Telus. It’s been working toward a major Euro launch for months and formed a partnership with content delivery specialist End2End earlier this summer to move the process forward.

Lee Joseph, Medio’s MD of EMEA, told ME: "We've always been keen to make inroads in Europe, which is a very different marketplace from the US, where we are already well-established. So this is a big win that validates our approach to search and our ability to support a tier one European carrier.”

The new t-zones search box has been designed to overcome the physical constraints of the mobile screen by providing a click-saving experience which returns relevant answers instead of links. The Medio solution replaces the one provided by MotionBridge.
