French publisher to 'revolutionise' first person shooter (FPS) games on mobile.
Urban Attack, which is due to hit operator decks in the US and Europe in November, has been 20 months in the making.
VG Mobile says its use of vector graphics means it will run in 3D across all modern handsets – not just those with special 3D technical wizardry inside.
VG Mobile’s president Paul Maglione told ME: “We've invested heavily in Urban Attack because, quite frankly, no-one has ever published an FPS for mobile with any success, due to the fact that they only work on high-end devices and the controls are too fiddly.”
To get round the latter problem, VGM has automated character movement and split the screen into ‘firing sectors’. Urban Attack comprises 60 levels and ten mini games.
