Vodafone UK to launch Omnifone's much-hyped 'all you can eat' music download service.

The MusicStation service, which offers access to a million tracks for £1.99 a week, will be made available via the Vodafone live! portal in the run-up to Christmas.

It’s a different approach from the typical operator music service - including Voda's existing Musiwave-powered full-track download offering -  which make songs available on a strictly pay-per-download basis.

The Voda deal represents the second major commercial launch for the Omnifone platform (which went live with Sweden's Telenor in June).

The company says it has deals in place with 30 operators in total.

MusicStation will offer tracks from the four major labels and will work across Voda's 2.5G and 3G customer base.

The service will be supported by a range of new handsets in Q4, including the Sony Ericsson W910i, Nokia N95 8GB and Samsung F700.
