New stats from Bango show international off-deck sales are on the rise.
The direct-to-consumer channel enabler says its community of content provider are generating 30 per cent of their sales from overseas buyers.
The figure compares to five per cent 12 months ago, with Bango predicting it will rise to 55 per cent by this time next year.
Bango attributes the trend to the fact that its content providers can plug into its system one and bill in 150 countries, rather than having to ink separate agreements in individual territories.
The rise of the off-deck search engine and paid search marketing models are also playing a big role.
Anil Malhotra, senior VP of marketing at Bango, said: "Businesses often start by selling mobile content in their own country, but they soon realise they have visitors from all around the world with minimal promotional effort. Because Bango solutions are global, businesses can leverage the mobile web to quickly and easily capture sales from a world-wide audience."
