Take picture, buy mobile content – that’s the idea behind Craze's MMS & Buy service.
Urban music specialist Craze Production is launching MMS & Buy, which invites consumers to take a camera phone pic of a CD or gig poster, send it by MMS to a 60300 shortcode and receive a link to ringtones, video clips, concert tickets and further information about the album and the artist.
The service makes effectively turns a CD, DVD or poster into an interactive portal for mobile content downloads. MMS & Buy does not require any special barcodes, markings or software installation. It’s based on an image recognition engine developed by Israeli Startup DSPV.
MMS & Buy starts in the UK with a focus on Top 20 UK singles. Furthermore, Craze will release special CD editions of the best titles from its catalogue, all MMS & Buy supported. Among them are Timbaland, Aaliyah, Jimmy Cliff, Kool & The Gang and Rev Run of Run DMC.
Plans for the next phase include buying concert tickets straight from newspapers, flyers or street posters with 1 click, and making the service available on Craze Production's music store on Sky Interactive TV.
