India has lived up to the hype by becoming Nokia’s second largest market.
The vendor didn’t disclose figures. China remained Nokia's biggest market worldwide. In general, the Indian market has added 7.3 million subscribers in June, taking the total to 185.1 million, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
Nokia is not only selling in India, it’s also manufacturing. It has produced 60 million handsets since opening a factory 18 months ago. Half of sold domestically.
