Player X's medical larks

Player X has unveiled Hollywood Hospital, the first in a new ‘glamour’ gaming franchise.
The title taps into the world’s obsession with celebrity and mixes popular mobile game genres – tycoon and lifestyle – with a healthy dose of humour. Player X, which was today named by the Daily Telegraph as Britain’s fourth fastest growing VC-backed company (179 per cent a year), is investing heavily in the franchise with a second title, Hollywood Hotel, already in pre-production.
Hollywood Hospital, developed by 8Bit Games, centres around hospital staff who are forever falling in love with their patients while they try to elude the paparazzi-chasing celebrities who have checked into rehab.
The game will launch across global operators in Q4, backed by a pan-European and US marketing campaign including viral marketing, PR and celebrity endorsement.
“This is a major new publishing franchise from Player X. We’re delighted to have come up with something as original as Hollywood Hospital and are looking forward to mobile gamers getting the bug for it as much as the patients in the game,” said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.
